House Removals Across the UK
From a single-bedroom flat move across town to a five-bedroom family home moving from London to the South-West, MTC's residential removals service is set up for one thing: getting your household contents from one front door to another, intact, on the date you've agreed.
What's covered
One residential service, three move sizes
Residential removals from MTC come in three operating shapes — the survey at the start decides which one fits your move.
- Local moves — across the town, the borough, or the same city. Small to medium load, single-day operation, often no overnight storage required. Quoted on the same basis as UK-wide moves but priced for the shorter operating window.
- UK-wide relocations — across regions: London to the South-West, Manchester to Edinburgh, Birmingham to Cornwall. Often involves overnight storage or two-day delivery; survey scopes the access at both ends.
- International moves — to France, Italy, Spain, or Portugal. Different paperwork, different scheduling rhythm, but the same MTC team running the move start to finish. See international removals for the full operating model.
What's included in a house removals quote
Every written house removals quote from MTC includes:
- The pre-move survey (video or in-person depending on move size).
- Loading at the pickup address, including stairs, narrow access, and standard furniture dismantle.
- Transit between addresses on the agreed schedule.
- Goods-in-transit and public liability insurance.
- Delivery at the destination address, including stairs and reasonable furniture reassembly.
- A direct contact at MTC who handles the move from brief through to drop-off.
Optional extras (quoted separately on the same brief)
- Full or fragile-only packing — the team comes ahead of the move day with materials and packs the contents. Full packing covers the whole property; fragile-only covers the kitchen, glassware, and high-risk items.
- Specialist handling — pianos, antiques, art, instruments. Surveyed separately and quoted with the right crew and gear in the line items.
- Storage between addresses — short or long-term, where there's a gap between move-out and move-in dates. Common on UK-wide and international moves.
- House clearance — for items not coming with you. Quoted alongside the move so the same team handles both visits.
- Unpacking on arrival — the team unpacks at the destination and removes the packaging materials.
Who MTC house removals are set up for
Three customer groups recur on residential moves with MTC:
- UK families moving home — local moves, regional relocations, often around school timing or property completion. The transparent-quote operating model is what people tell us they came to MTC for.
- UK professionals relocating for work — within the UK or to a European city. Often time-sensitive, often with a corporate relocation budget.
- UK retirees or second-home owners moving to mainland Europe — to France, Italy, Spain or Portugal. The four-country focus on the international side means we know those routes well.
What's included on every move
Move with us, know what you're getting
Removals quotes can feel opaque. We try not to be. Every MTC move comes with the same baseline of written terms, insurance, and direct human contact — so there are no surprises between booking and the front door.
Itemised written quote
Every quote sets out the move scope, what we cover, and what affects cost — sent in writing before anything is booked.
Vetted in-house team
No subcontractor handovers between collection and delivery. The same MTC crew runs your move from start to finish.
Insurance built in
Goods-in-transit and public liability cover is included on every move. Higher-value items declared in the quote.
One direct contact
You speak to the same person from quote through to drop-off. No call-centre redirects, no chasing a job number.
How an MTC move runs
Five clear stages, one team across all of them
We try to keep the process simple to explain and easy to follow. Here’s how a move with MTC tends to run, whether it’s across town or across the Channel.
-
Tell us about the move
Pickup and drop-off, rough scope, any specialist items, and when you’re aiming to move. A short call or the online brief is enough to get started.
-
Pre-move survey
A surveyor walks the property (video or in person, depending on the move size) so the written quote reflects access, parking, packing volume, and special handling.
-
Written, itemised quote
You get a written quote setting out scope, included services, what affects cost, and the contract terms. Nothing is booked until you sign off.
-
Move day
The same vetted MTC team that scoped the move runs it on the day — packing (if booked), loading, transit, customs documentation if international, and delivery.
-
Settling in
Unpacking, furniture reassembly, and waste removal where booked. A direct contact stays available after delivery for anything that needs a follow-up.
Scope your house move
Send pickup and drop-off, rough scope, and your target date. A surveyor will be in touch promptly with the next step.
